RENCONTRES TERRA NOSTRA : DANS LA GUEULE DE L'OGRE

Join us on 16–17–18 October in Sainte Croix Vallée Française for the next Terra Nostra 2026 festival, focusing on documentary films.

Screening of the film *Dans la gueule de l’ogre* by Karampour Mahsa (2026, 85 mins), Saturday 17 October at 2.00 pm.

“My brother Siavash’s novelistic destiny, so far removed from my own, eludes me and fascinates me. Whilst I have just become French and he is about to become American, far from our native Iran, we are searching for common ground,” says the director.

A deeply personal film, *Dans la gueule de l’ogre* challenges the fragile notions of exile and identity. Here, exile is not a solution, any more than staying in Iran offers a future. Structured like a road movie in which these two options clash, the film finds its way when it moves beyond this binary logic. By ignoring the in-between, it succeeds in captivating us with its unconventional approach to uprooting and instability, one that never relies on clichés or identity-based moralising.
