The Urbain V Long-Distance Hiking Trail is dedicated to Guillaume de Grimoard (1309–1370), a native of Lozère, who was elected Pope in 1362 and beatified in 1870.… As this trail passes through Mende, why not take the opportunity to walk part of it and discover the legacy of this famous pope? Urban V is regarded as a humanist pope, but he was also a great builder. In Lozère, we owe him the cathedral in Mende and the collegiate churches at Bédouès and Quézac.
