Stand-up paddleboarding in the Gorges du Tarn

Stand-up paddle boardinginvolves gliding across the water whilst standing on a board, which you steer using a paddle. Having taken the ocean coastline by storm, this water sport is now making inroads inland. Whilst it is commonly practised on lakes, it is less commonly practised on rivers.

This is certainly the case in the Gorges du Tarn, where you can hire a paddleboard for a full day or half a day. All the local operators will be happy to share their top swimming spots with you, as well as outings combining paddling and water-based fun for families, alongside more challenging routes.

In the Gorges du Tarn, stand-up paddleboarding is also enjoyed at night: an experience well worth trying to feel at one with nature!

Accessible to everyone provided they are comfortable in the water, stand-up paddleboarding offers a smooth glide, fun and thrills” […] As it is practised standing up, it feels like walking on water and allows you to gain height to discover the landscape and the seabed in a different way. More stable than a canoe, this sport gives your whole body a workout. You can navigate the rapids on your knees or standing up, for those who enjoy a challenge.
