Przewalski’s horses

Near a protected village in the heart of Causse Méjean lives a unique species of wild horses that are renowned for looking like cave paintings: Przewalski horses. They were at risk for going extinct until they were gathered in a 400ha protected park; TAKH association studies them, makes sure they are preserved and takes part in reintroducing them in central Asia steppes. Thanks to the Przewalski horse information centre, visitors, with scientists, learn about their life and their incredible journey back to Mongolia.
