Ako is a brand of customizable decorative objects featuring cut-out illustrations on bases, designed and manufactured in Lozère, France. The compositions are finely cut from a black material and illustrate the unique character of Lozère in its various forms: landscapes, villages, and flora and fauna. The project's name refers to an expression in the local dialect used by the older generation when they were "sainting" (tinkering). It was used to mark a successful action; today, it could be translated as "There you go!" Beyond the name, the very concept originates from this expression, as Ako products are adaptable and modular through assembly, thanks to the base. This base allows the user's imagination free rein in embellishing their interior.
