It was at the Mende-Brenoux airfield, on the Causse de Mende plateau, that Gérard Oury filmed the glider launch scene that concludes the famous film *La Grande Vadrouille* in 1966. Legend has it that the car used to launch the gliders is still at the bottom of the precipice.
