GRATASSAC CROSS
The Gratassac cross is a well-kept secret, even though its panorama is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the department. You can see: the winding Altier valley leading to Castanet castle, Lake Villefort as far as Pourcharesse, the Guerin mountain range, Villefort itself, and the Cévennes mountains… A single outing will certainly not be enough to fully appreciate a site of this magnitude.

Location details
Go to the village of La Vignette and park at the start of the Arjalas trail. Continue along the forest road to the right until you reach the trailhead at the first bend. The path is marked and clearly indicated by cairns and colored markers (yellow then red/white). The hike takes about an hour at an average walking pace.
