PANORAMA OF SAINT-CHELY DU TARN "the Saltadou"

This panoramic viewpoint, located along the D986 road between Sainte-Enimie and Meyrueis, overlooks the Saint-Chély-du-Tarn meander from a height of 400 meters. A freely accessible lookout point allows visitors to admire this breathtaking site.

The formation of the Tarn Gorges dates back six million years, but it became more active during the last glacial periods. During warmer and wetter phases, the abundant runoff collected by the river sculpted the surrounding landscapes, giving rise to the Saint-Chély-du-Tarn and Pougnadoires cirques.

On-site, visitors will find a small shop offering drinks, ice cream, postcards, and guidebooks, as well as local products such as honey and jams, and a variety of souvenirs.
