Chassezac Gorge Viewpoint

The Chassezac runs through very deep granite gorges beneath the medieval village of Garde-Guérin. The setting is extremely wild (no village and no road visible) and is worth a visit in itself.

With a canyon of more than 7 km and a difference in altitude of 400 m at the Belvédère de la Garde Guérin, the Chassezac is distinguished by its rugged terrain which for a long time gave the gorges the name of “the Devil’s lair”.
