CHAOS OF NÎMES THE OLD

Just 3 km from the Col de Perjuret, starting from Le Veygalier on the Causse Méjean, a waymarked trail (about one hour’s walk) leads you to the vast chaotic landscape of Nîmes-le-Vieux, an immense field of dolomitic rocks shaped into strange and fascinating forms.

Let your imagination wander — you may recognize Gargantua’s Cauldron (known locally as l’Oule), a lion, or even the arenas of a mysterious ancient city.
