UNESCO – THE CAUSSE MÉJEAN, BETWEEN GORGES AND PLATEAU

This route invites you to travel through the Tarn Gorges until they meet the Jonte River. You will then ascend along the wilder gorges, where you have a good chance of spotting vultures. After arriving in Meyrueis, you will begin the ascent of Mont Méjean. Once on the plateau, the steppe-like landscapes will unfold before you. You will then have the opportunity to pass through charming hamlets bearing the imprint of the Causses limestone architecture. Below, you'll find descriptions of some must-see places along the way!
