UNESCO – MOUNT LOZÈRE AND PUECHS DES BONDONS
Route details
Description
This route offers a journey through three distinct rock formations and through history. Starting in the capital of Gévaudan with its imposing cathedral, you will then discover the enigmatic standing stones on the limestone plateau of Les Bondons, erected there by people who practiced agropastoralism. The rounded silhouette of Mont Lozère, which welcomes flocks to its summer pastures each year, will then come into view from the Col de Finiels. You will then reach the schistous Lot Valley, dominated by the castle of the Lords of Tournel.
