DOCUMENTARY AND DISCUSSION EVENING: ‘Au fil de l’eau, de l’insouciance à la désobéissance’ by Georges Tillard

Every two months on a Sunday evening, La Loco-Motive 48 hosts a documentary and discussion evening at the La Forge cinema-theatre. An opportunity to discover and share ideas on socially engaged topics.

The documentaries tackle current issues – sometimes controversial ones – that encourage us to reflect and take a critical look at the world around us. Thanks to the participation of committed guests and partners such as Secours Populaire and the Confédération Paysanne, these debates offer illuminating perspectives and concrete courses of action.

For November, La Loco presents the documentary: ‘Au fil de l’eau, de l’insouciance à la désobéissance’ by Georges Tillard

Synopsis: Droughts, floods – everywhere, the water cycle has gone haywire. Beyond the distress caused to local communities, these disasters are also the result of choices made regarding the development of agriculture, industry and land-use planning since the Second World War.

From Pas-de-Calais to Sainte-Soline, via Rennes and Toulouse, this investigation, told in the first person singular, demonstrates that solutions exist but that their implementation remains dependent on political decisions. It also marks the realisation of the need for commitment.

This event is part of the ALIMENTERRE Festival.

The ALIMENTERRE Festival was launched in 2007 in a Parisian cinema. Since then, it has become an international event focusing on sustainable and socially responsible food, held annually from 15 October to 30 November. Through a selection of documentary films, it encourages citizens to learn about and understand agricultural and food issues in France and around the world, so that they can play a part in jointly building sustainable and inclusive food systems and in upholding the right to food.
