MONOGRAPHIE – CIE DEFRACTO

On stage, a character practises repeating the same movements tirelessly, as if seeking to master the unpredictable. In this black-and-white world inspired by cartoons, Guillaume Martinet creates a burlesque and virtuosic juggling solo, in which every object seems to have a will of its own. Balls, hoops and capricious mechanisms become the partners in a wordless performance, choreographed down to the millimetre. The laws of gravity yield to an absurd logic, made up of improbable falls, impossible suspensions and unexpected bounces. The body is transformed into a machine of surprises, oscillating between extreme control and jubilant chaos. Driven by highly visual choreography, *Monographie* displays irresistible physical humour, fuelled by precise movements and a taste for the unexpected.
An absurd and explosive show, as funny as it is masterfully executed.
