Originally, the ‘human cannonball’ was a fairground attraction involving the firing of a man, properly booted and helmeted, from a rather special cannon. He is the projectile and uses all his weight to trace his heroic trajectory.
Somewhere, she sings and he soars. Both, fully aware of the poetic and kamikaze nature of the act, burn out and then vanish. The ‘Cannon Man’ is all about the ultimate vertigo – intoxication in sobriety and jubilation in restraint.
A little gem of absurd poetry, cheerfully blending circus and music. An absolute must-see!
