Synopsis
Prince Siegfried is urged by his parents to choose a wife, but by a lake he meets a mysterious swan maiden, Odette, who has been bewitched by the sorcerer Rothbart. Only a sincere vow can save her. Captivated, he swears eternal love to her – until he meets Odile, the black swan…

Presentation
An enchanting ballet set to Tchaikovsky’s sparkling music, Swan Lake was first staged in 1877 for the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and later restaged by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov. Nearly a hundred years later, in 1984, Rudolf Nureyev presented his own interpretation of the ballet at the Paris Opera.
