JEP : VISITE DU SITE MINIER DE PEYRELADE

As part of Heritage Days, the A.R.D.E.C. association is organising a free guided tour of the Peyrelade mining site (2.5 km from Les Aydons) led by Jean-Louis Maurin (author of the book ‘Quand l’activité minière animait nos territoires’).

Meet at 9.00 am in Villefort in front of the tourist office or at 9.30 am in front of the town hall in Pied-de-Borne (carpooling, walking shoes required).

Featuring a forge, mines and a powder magazine, this site has been mined for silver-bearing lead since the 17th century and is accessible after a 20-minute walk from Péchadou (via the old Les Aydons–Les Balmelles track).
