Join us for a weekend of free activities at the Takh association on the Causse Méjean to explore, through workshops, talks and film screenings, scientific topics relating to horses and ecosystems.
Free and no booking required. Lunch available on site.

Discover the fascinating history of the Przewalski’s horse, as well as the challenges involved in its conservation and reintroduction.

What goes on behind the doors of a research laboratory? Join a tour to explore the workspaces and gain a better understanding of the research carried out at Takh.

>> Droppings: discovering Mongolian and French wildlife – 30 mins
A fascinating and informative workshop to discover biodiversity… through droppings! Observe, compare and learn to recognise the traces left by animals.

Hay will hold no more secrets for you! Observe, smell and explore its different characteristics during a workshop that engages all your senses.

Set off to meet the garden’s tiny inhabitants and discover the diversity of flying insects around us.

Put your teamwork to the test! Take a behind-the-scenes look at scientific research and try to solve the puzzles relating to the journey of a scientific article, from research to publication.

>> Film screening: The reintroduction of the Przewalski’s horse – 1 hour
Make yourself comfortable and watch a film about the reintroduction of the Przewalski’s horse and the efforts being made to preserve this iconic species.

>> Horses in the meadow: do they move about a lot? – 1-hour talk
Discover the results of a participatory research project focusing on the movements of horses in the meadow. An opportunity to gain a better understanding of their behaviour and daily activities.

>> Horse sleep – 1-hour talk
How do horses sleep? For how long? In what positions? This talk invites you to discover the surprising characteristics of equine sleep.

>> Landscape and geology of the Causse Méjean – Talk – 1 hour
Discover the geological history and unique landscapes of the Causse Méjean through a talk that will give you a fresh perspective on the area.
