CINÉCO : L'ÉTRANGÈRE

France, 2026, 1h 42m – Directed by Gaya Jiji, starring Zar Amir Ebrahimi, Alexis Manenti and Amr Waked – Drama, suitable for ages 12 and over

Selma flees Syria, leaving behind a six-year-old son and a husband who has disappeared in the regime’s prisons. Upon arriving in Bordeaux, she meets Jérôme, a lawyer who helps her with her paperwork. Their love story will turn everything on its head.
Gaya Jiyi’s feature film is anything but yet another film about a migrant’s journey. It is, rather, the story of the love that can bind people together and the sacrifices they are prepared to make, precisely to protect those they love. A delicate film, in which hope sustains us.
