VILLAGE OF NASBINALS

Nasbinals, whose roots stretch back to the Middle Ages, boasts a wealth of natural and cultural treasures. It is a typical Aubrac village where basalt and granite buildings stand side by side. At the heart of the village rises the majestic Church of Sainte-Marie, a listed historical monument since 1921. There is also a statue dedicated to the most famous of the local healers, Pierre Brioude, known as Pierrounet. His renown was such that people came from all over France and even overseas to consult him. Nasbinals occupies a central position on the granite plateau of Aubrac. The village is surrounded by numerous boundary walls and granite and basalt burons, former shepherds' shelters where cheese was made. At the northern edge of Nasbinals, the basalt peak of Sentinelle offers an unparalleled panoramic view of all the Aubrac peaks. To the south, lovers of beautiful sites will encounter the Déroc waterfall, a testament to the geological richness of the Aubrac: the "basalt organs"
