The small village of La Rouvière is part of the commune of Pelouse. Besides its Romanesque church, the village boasts an interesting architectural heritage. Several old farmhouses stand out, with their beautiful entrances framed in meticulously crafted limestone. In the village center is a bread oven with an external hearth. Nearby is a large granite cross. The shaft is a monolithic column topped with an Ionic capital. Both sides of the cross are sculpted: Christ on the cross on one side and the Virgin Mary on the other. The style of these figures suggests that the cross dates from the 18th century. The date 1811 on the base would therefore refer to a repair or a relocation. The ox-shoeing frame is one of the last remaining wooden structures in Lozère. It consists of four posts from which the straps used to restrain the working oxen are still suspended.
