THE HOUSE OF THE BONDONS MENHIRS

The Maison des Menhirs (House of Menhirs) invites you to discover one of the largest megalithic sites in Europe, where more than 200 menhirs were erected by Neolithic men and women around 5,000 years ago. This cultural and tourist interpretation center offers a deeper understanding of the history of this exceptional prehistoric heritage, its integration into the landscape, and the link between territory, memory, and transmission. Through a playful, scientific, and accessible exhibition design, enhanced with multimedia resources, the visit explores the menhirs, their creation, their relocation, their distribution across the Cham region, as well as the Neolithic civilization that gave rise to them. Particular attention is paid to the fragility of these monuments and their preservation. Offered in French, English, and Spanish, the Maison des Menhirs is aimed at families, heritage enthusiasts, those curious about archaeology, and visitors seeking an engaging exploration of the region.
