TEMPLE OF CASSAGNAS
Built in 1847, the Protestant church in Cassagnas, in the Lozère Cévennes, has had an eventful history. Weakened by poor workmanship and the elements, it was closed on several occasions before being purchased by the local council in 2007.
Fully restored between 2011 and 2013, it reopened its doors in 2014. Today, the church is distinguished by its Doric columns, the scale of its vaults and its historic furnishings, which were restored in 2021.
Its location also offers a beautiful view of the Cévennes landscape.
Now dedicated to artistic events and Protestant worship, this building stands as a testament to the preservation of local heritage.
