In Saint-Laurent-de-Trèves, the houses line a rocky outcrop overlooking the Tarnon valley. At Castellas, Grallator-type dinosaur footprints, dating back some 200 million years, bear witness to ancient lagoons. In days gone by, houses were built in tiers between the church and the castle, situated on the Castellas. First mentioned at the start of the 12th century, part of the barony of Florac and subsequently destroyed in the 17th century, the castle left behind stones that were reused in the houses, including a lintel bearing a coat of arms. The site also preserves traces of settlement from the late Neolithic period. From the Castellas, enjoy a magnificent panoramic view over the Tarnon valley and the hills of the Causse Méjean. A footpath and information panels guide visitors on their exploration. The Castellas is inaccessible by car.
