Mentioned as a simple private chapel of the Knights of Malta as early as the Middle Ages, it became a parish church in 1843. A Maltese cross, symbolizing this affiliation, is located on the oak ambo. The church's south portal is remarkable for its keystone, where the keystone and cross are intertwined. It is surmounted by a limestone niche containing a statue of the Virgin Mary. The chancel is topped by a bell gable with two openings, crowned by a pinnacle bearing the symbol of the Trinity. Inside, the last bay, faced with large granite blocks, is believed to have formed the core of the chapel in medieval times. The two other bays were added during the 19th century and are recognizable by their light-colored plaster vaults. The chancel houses a magnificent altar made of oak and linden wood, depicting the Last Supper in bas-relief after Leonardo da Vinci. A statue of Saint John the Baptist, meanwhile, is located in the baptistery chapel.
