MARCHASTEL BRIDGE

To the east of the village, the Marchastel bridge, also known as the Bukinkan bridge, spans the Bès River on the Aubrac plateau. Built in the 16th century, it is a must-see for hikers, offering a breathtaking view of the Aubrac's flora and fauna. Indeed, the waters of the Bès harbor a rare geological phenomenon: peat bogs that form along the riverbanks. In the past, the currents powered mills in the area, from Marchastel to Rieutort d'Aubrac.
