LES BONDONS

The village Les Bondons, overlooked by the famous 'Puechs' and menhirs of the Cham des Bondons, deserves a visit for the architecture of its houses. The facades show the geological formations of the landscape where sandstone and limestone dominate.

At the center of the village, also discover the church Saint-Saturnin des Bondons. Property of the chapter cathedral of Mende as early as the 12th century, this modest church has kept its Romanesque structure. A nave with two bays with a round barrel vault that opens on a semicircle apse, whose vault, lower is underlined by a banner. Outside, the facade has kept a window with a Romanesque axis. The radiating chapel is quite large and neatly decorated. A square bell tower, with twin bay windows served by a stair turret, overlooks the edifice.
