LA GARDE GUERIN

City of "gamblers", from the 12th century, one of the most beautiful villages in France, Garde Guérin appears to be a strategic place. This fortified complex located on the Chemin de Régordane overlooks the Chassezac gorges.

Ancient texts mention the “castrum”. By “castrum” we mean the fortified enclosure of the village, which contains the houses of the co-lords of La Garde or Chevaliers Pariers and the castle.

The castle currently refers to the terrace at the foot of the tower and the ruins of the Molette de Morangiés home.
The existence of a seigniorial residence was only possible when, probably in 1569, the Molette de Morangiès had gathered in their possession all the “paréries”, putting an end to the regime of co-lordship which had prevailed until then.

They had a large square-shaped dwelling built in the western part called the Pré de la tour.
