In Florac, the Church of Saint-Martin stands out for its classical-inspired façade, reminiscent of a Greek temple with its two Doric columns topped by a pediment. Built in 1830, it replaced an earlier church dating from the 12th century. Inside, discover architecture blending various influences: a barrel-vaulted nave, a shell-shaped apse and Romanesque-style windows. The side aisles, topped with wooden ceilings, feature a distinctive architectural detail in the form of their semi-circular ends. This building is well worth a visit for its architectural contrasts and its history.
