DAM OF NAUSSAC

Naussac Dam’s role is to maintain a minimum level in the Allier and Loire during low-water periods to ensure sufficient water is available for its various uses. The dam has been operational since 1983 and the plant was set up in 1997. The 50m high gravity dam has an intake tower to direct water to the pumped-storage plant and hollow jet valve. The facilities are equipped with passage structures for migratory species such as salmon. Naussac Lake is 190 million m3 and 1050ha where you can try your hand at water sports: sailing, catamaran, canoeing as well as walking, mountain biking etc.
