CHURCH OF THE HOLY CROSS AND SAINT PETER

The Church of the Holy Cross and Saint Peter presents a refined Romanesque style on its façade. Only the south portal and the bell tower on the west façade emerge from this granite massif. The latter is a single-story tower with two openings, topped by a pinnacle surmounted by a Latin cross. The portal is notable for its two sawtooth archivolts. A Star of David is also carved into the stone of its tympanum. Inside, the stonework differs from that of the exterior. Constructed in opus incertum, only the vaults and pilasters stand out with their large granite blocks. The church has a single nave with a semicircular barrel vault. It opens onto two square side chapels. The chancel houses a magnificent wooden and gold altarpiece upon which sits an imposing statue of Christ. At the entrance, there are also magnificent baptismal fonts crowned with a cross.
