In 1954, Father Lucien Oziol (1920-2004), vicar in Marvejols, specializing in children's welfare, attended a conference in Clermont on children with disabilities. He then decided to embark on this adventure and create the first residential center for people with disabilities. He purchased the Clos du Nid property, located near Marvejols, and converted the barn and stable into living quarters. The Clos du Nid quickly became a success, and many other centers were established in the surrounding area, and even in other departments, such as the Oise, Loire, and Hérault. By 1970, the Clos du Nid had 600 employees serving 700 people with disabilities. Sculptor: Nella Buscot
