This ancient tower, built in the 13th century, connected the southern and eastern ramparts of the medieval town of Malzieu. Along with the town walls, it defended the town against the bands of brigands who ravaged the countryside. A staircase of about a hundred steps allows visitors to climb to the top, where a superb 360° panorama awaits. The view, encompassing the rooftops and surrounding area, perfectly complements the historical tour of the town. Remarkably restored by the municipality of Malzieu-Ville, it now houses a tourist information office, the exhibition hall for the rampart walk, and the headquarters of the Margeride en Gévaudan Intercommunal Tourist Office.
