ART DECO FACADE OF THE CINEMA AND STANDARD METER

The Trianon Cinema stands on the remains of the former Lords of Peyre's house in Marvejols. The building later housed the Chapel of the Penitents, then became the Town Hall in 1808. In 1908, it was converted into a market hall. The openings were designed to allow the passage of linens. The building was dedicated to culture on May 17, 1914: inaugurated as a municipal theater, it remained so until the 1930s when the cinema replaced it. The standard meter affixed to the end of the Trianon Cinema's facade dates from 1795. Originally, it was discovered by chance in the basement of the small square behind the Théron Gate; it was later placed on the cinema's facade.
