The history of the village is intimately linked to the existence of the bridge that spans the Tarn River and the clock tower that extends it. This village, with its tumultuous past, was not built around an old castle or church, but rather around this bridge and the "toll tower" facing it. The highly strategic position of the village, located both on the passage of the Languedoc drover's road and the Tarn, gave it this function of a ford, allowing it to control the access of men and animals, but also to collect tolls.
The existence of a bridge at this location seems to date back to the Middle Ages, but the current structure is more recent. It consists of two arches and a buttress built of large granite blocks.
The clock tower is a square building with six levels, topped by a metal belfry and a clock dating from 1897. It is protected as a Historical Monument, as is the clock
