Winter in Lozère

In winter, on its bare or wooded vastness, Lozère provides 300 km of marked slopes and snowbound paths for cross-country skiing or for learning downhill skiing.

Downhill skiing is available at the Bleymard-Mont-Lozère resort. Nordic skiing has been established on the three Aubrac massifs (Nasbinals and the Bonnecombe Pass), in Margeride (Les Bouviers, Laubert-Plateau du Roy) and on Mont-Lozère (Bleymard-Mont Lozère and Mas de la Barque). The gentle lozère mountains and their village resorts offer families the chance to experience winter with a difference; in a warm inn or country gite, all kinds of activities set the pace of their stay: and first and foremost, the snow. The different types of skiing include downhill skiing (the slopes are ideal for beginners and families).

Nordic skiing is practiced on packed and marked slopes but also freestyle on the large Aubrac plateaus, Mont Lozère or the Margeride ridges. The white winter in Lozère also provides opportunities for sled dog trips, snow biking or simply discovering our great forests and snowshoe walking.

Experience winter with a difference in Lozère by meeting the wildlife in our animal parks: bison, wolves, deer, by visiting our sites or our castles, by enjoying thermalism and wellbeing after skiing through sessions in the warm waters of our thermal spa resorts.
